Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology that helps you better feel the sound coming out of your devices. It expands on existing surround sound systems by adding height channels, allowing sounds to be interpreted as three-dimensional objects.

Many Android OEMs have been keen on including the Dolby sound technology on their devices and the results are not always very good. Thankfully, we don’t have to rely on OEMs anymore to get Dolby experience on our Android devices.

In this guide, we will see how we can install Dolby sound system on Android 11 devices. There are a couple of ways to do this and I will cover them all here.

•  Dolby Digital Plus [Root]

Dolby Atmos APK [No Root Needed]

This is the simplest way to install Dolby Atmos on your Android device running Android 11 if you have not rooted it yet.

Download and install this APK file: Dolby-Atmos-Android-11.apk. Open it and configure it as you like.

For OnePlus users

You need to disable the OnePlus Sound Service app from your device before you can use the Dolby Atmos on your device. There are a couple of ways to do this.

Method 1: Execute the below ADB command on your phone from your PC:

adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.oneplus.sound.tuner

You need to have ADB installed on your device for this.

Method 2: Install the Service Disabler app from Google Play Store. Open the app, look for com.oneplus.sound.tuner and disable it.

Dolby Digital Plus [Root]

If you have root and/or TWRP on your Android device, then you can follow this method to get Dolby Atmos on your Android 11 device.

Magisk: If you have Magisk on your Android device, then you can simply download and install this simple Magisk Module on your device: dolby-digital-plus-magisk.zip

TWRP: If you don’t have Magisk or do not want to go the Magisk way, you can also simply flash this ZIP package via TWRP recovery: Dolby-Digital-Plus-TWRP.zip
